Business Development Manager - Mining and Industrial

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across Muswellbrook, Singleton and the Greater Hunter.

This is a hands-on, market-facing role focused on building strong commercial relationships across the mining, industrial and contractor sectors. You'll spend significant time in the field, developing new opportunities, growing existing accounts and positioning the business for upcoming projects, shutdowns and maintenance requirements.

Success in this role comes from knowing the market, being visible with customers and turning relationships and market intelligence into commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive new B2B business across Muswellbrook, Singleton and the Greater Hunter, focusing on mining, industrial and contractor markets.
• Build strong relationships with key decision-makers through regular customer and site visits.
• Proactively identify and pursue opportunities across upcoming projects, shutdowns, maintenance programs and contractor requirements.
• Prospect new accounts, re-engage dormant customers and develop strategies to win competitor-held business.
• Grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities to increase revenue and market share.
• Manage quotations, commercial negotiations and opportunities through to completion.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline, accurate CRM records and forecasts while delivering agreed revenue, margin and new-business targets.

Success in this role means building relationships at every level of a customer's business, from site personnel and supervisors through to procurement and senior decision-makers. You'll become a trusted first point of contact, uncovering opportunities before they reach the broader market.

Based out of our He xham branch this roles normal working hours are Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm.

What we are looking for

• Proven B2B sales experience, ideally within the Hunter Valley mining, industrial or contractor market.
• Strong knowledge of the Muswellbrook, Singleton and Greater Hunter market, with an established local network highly regarded.
• A proactive, commercially minded salesperson who is confident prospecting, cold calling and opening new doors.
• Strong face-to-face relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage everyone from site personnel through to senior decision-makers.
• Persistent, competitive and accountable, with the ability to identify opportunities others may miss.
• Organised, disciplined and comfortable working autonomously in a field-based role.
• Current Australian driver's licence.

Experience selling within mining services, equipment hire, access equipment, materials handling, engineering, maintenance, construction, transport and logistics, industrial supplies or related sectors will be highly regarded.
