Goldfields Individual and Family Support Association (GIFSA) is an organisation that supports people with disabilities, those who care for them, and their families. We are not-for-profit, non- government, and community based.

• About the opportunity

  With our organisation's expansion, we are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Coordinator – Individualised Services to become part of our current team at the leading disability support organisation in the Goldfields region of Esperance. This position is offered on a Full-Time basis.

  Within this role you will be responsible for managing a range of support services to assist people with disabilities to live the “good life”. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure positive relationships are developed and maintained with the people we support and the relevant stakeholders in their life in order to implement and continuously improve their individualised support services. 

  • Encourage and promote choice and control for the people we support

  • Facilitate opportunities for people to be valued members of their community whilst ensuring strategies within their Individual Plan are aligned with their goals and aspirations to achieve their desired outcomes

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to support staff who come from varied cultural backgrounds with a range of different life experiences.

Essential skills and experience

• Well-developed advocacy skills

• Ability to build and nurture relationships at a personal, organisational and community level

• Effectively manage and implement medically developed care plan requirements as directed by qualified professionals and specialists

• Demonstrated computer skills including working knowledge of databases, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
