Clinical Nurse Consultant - After Hours

We are seeking expressions of interest from motivated clinicians for a 0.7 FTE (56 hours) part-time backfill position, working the following after-hours rotating roster:  Monday to Friday: 1430 - 2300, Saturday and Sunday: 1000 - 1830. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the leadership of the service while supporting positive outcomes for consumers and staff in the after-hours environment.

About the role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant is an expert clinical practice registered nurse who provides support and nursing leadership, coaching and mentorship within and across Ipswich Hospital Mental Health Acute Inpatient Service (MHAIS). This position provides expert knowledge, skill and abilities and guides clinical practice across services after-hours at MHAIS to meet the strategic and operational objectives of safe, good quality patient-centred care. This role includes educational support for nursing and midwifery staff at all levels of practice. This role promotes the timely flow of transfers from Emergency Department to an appropriate bed in MHAIS.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
• Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
