About the role

Nurich PTY LTD is seeking an experienced HDD Driller & Vac Truck Operator to join our growing team in Stapylton, QLD 4207. This is a full-time position with an immediate start available. In this role, you will be responsible for operating horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment and vacuum truck machinery on various construction and infrastructure projects. You will play a crucial part in our operations, ensuring that drilling and excavation work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards. This position requires someone who is reliable, safety-conscious, and skilled in heavy plant operation within the construction sector.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain HDD drilling equipment on construction and infrastructure projects, including setting up, calibrating, and monitoring drilling systems

• Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance on all plant and machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation

• Operate vacuum truck equipment for excavation, material removal, and site preparation work

• Follow all health and safety protocols and site-specific safety requirements, ensuring compliance with construction industry regulations

• Communicate effectively with project teams, site supervisors, and colleagues to coordinate drilling and excavation activities

• Document and report on daily operations, including fuel consumption, hours worked, and any equipment issues or incidents

• Maintain accurate records of machinery usage and perform minor repairs and troubleshooting as required

• Assist with site cleanup and ensure work areas are left safe and tidy upon completion

What we're looking for

• Current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence

• Proven experience operating HDD drilling equipment in construction or civil works environments

• Demonstrated experience operating vacuum trucks or similar excavation machinery

• Valid competency-based qualifications or tickets relevant to plant and machinery operation in Australia

• Strong knowledge of health and safety practices in the construction industry, including site inductions and hazard awareness

• Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced construction environments

• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining professional standards on site

• Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with site supervisors and project teams

• Physically fit and capable of working in varying outdoor conditions
