Cook Grade III - Cafe

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook Grade III to join our team at The Island Cafe in Norah Head, NSW.

As a full-time Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our valued customers.

42 - 45 hours / week.

6 days / week - Tuesday - Sunday

Operating hours 7.00am - 3.00pm

Hours / week or days of work are not flexible or negotiable.

What you'll be doing

1. Prepare and cook a variety of menu items to the highest standards

2. Ensure efficient, accurate and timely preparation and delivery of all food orders

3. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations

4. Assist in menu planning and development, contributing ideas to enhance the culinary offering

5. Provide support and guidance to junior kitchen staff as required

6. Consistently deliver exceptional customer service and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment

To be considered for this position you must have:

1. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery must be held at the time of application

2. Minimum 2 years experience as a Cook in a busy cafe environment that has catered for both breakfast and lunch services

3. Strong working knowledge of food preparation, presentation and service standards

4. Excellent time management and multitasking skills to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen

5. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety

6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the wider cafe team

7. Ability to work calmly under pressure
