Maintenance Team Member

About the role

The Maintenance Team is responsible for carrying out general repairs, preventative maintenance, and upkeep of Guardian Self Storage's facilities, ensuring that buildings, storage units, equipment, and grounds are kept safe, clean, and in good working order. This role plays a key part in maintaining a high standard of presentation and safety for customers and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance across storage units, buildings, and common areas

• Perform routine inspections and address minor plumbing, electrical, and structural issues

• Maintain doors, locks, gates, and security equipment in good working order

• Undertake painting, patching, and general facility touch-ups as required

• Keep grounds, driveways, and common areas clean, tidy, and safe

• Respond promptly and courteously to maintenance requests from staff and customers

• Assist with basic groundskeeping and overall site presentation

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work completed and materials used

• Order and manage basic tools, parts, and supplies as needed

• Identify and report larger maintenance or safety issues requiring specialist trades

About you

• Proven experience in a handyman, maintenance, or trades-related role

• Solid general repair skills across basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and competently

• Good problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Proactive attitude with good time-management skills

• Friendly, customer-focused approach when interacting with tenants and visitors

• Own reliable transport and a current, valid driver's licence

• Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one

• Ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and kneeling, and safely lift and carry loads up to approximately 20kg
