This is a key leadership opportunity within a high-performing Business Services & Advisory team, suited to a commercially minded professional with strong experience managing client portfolios, leading teams and delivering strategic advisory outcomes. You will work closely with Directors while taking ownership of client relationships, mentoring team members and contributing to broader business growth and operational performance. 

The Role: 

• Take ownership of a substantial client portfolio, managing client relationships commercially while acting as a trusted advisor across business, taxation and strategic matters 

• Build strong long-term client relationships while managing expectations around timelines, fees and deliverables 

• Prepare and review financial statements, income tax returns and BAS/IAS obligations across companies, trusts, individuals and SMSFs 

• Deliver advisory services across tax planning, business structuring, cashflow management and strategic business matters 

• Provide technical advice across income tax, CGT, GST, FBT, Division 7A and superannuation matters 

• Identify opportunities to add value and contribute to new business and referral opportunities 

• Lead, mentor and develop junior and intermediate accountants across workflow, technical capability and career growth 

• Review work prepared by team members to ensure accuracy, compliance and quality standards 

• Oversee workflow management, WIP, recoverability, job scheduling and team capacity planning to ensure strong commercial outcomes and timely delivery 

• Research complex technical issues and contribute to internal technical training and knowledge sharing initiatives 

• Drive team performance, accountability and client service standards within a high-performing Business Services environment 

• Support broader business growth, leadership initiatives and a positive team culture 

About You: 

• CA or CPA qualified 

• Minimum 5+ years’ Australian public practice experience 

• Strong experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns 

• Demonstrated experience operating in a leadership-focused Business Services role with strong commercial and client management capability 

• Strong technical taxation knowledge across business services and advisory 

• Leadership capability with experience mentoring, supervising and developing staff 

• Confident communicator with strong client-facing advisory skills 

• Strong Xero and Microsoft Excel capability 

• Commercial, proactive and solutions-focused mindset
