About the Roles:
Canberra Health Services is seeking motivated and compassionate Psychologists to join the Community Health and Integrated Care (CHIC) Psychology and Counselling team. CHIC delivers integrated and effective rehabilitation, aged care and community-based services across a range of locations throughout the ACT. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, the Psychology and Counselling team provides evidence-based assessment and intervention services to adults across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Under the limited direction of the Manager, CHIC Psychology and Counselling Service, you will play a vital role in promoting positive client outcomes through the delivery of high-quality psychological assessment, intervention and consultation services. You will provide care to clients engaged in inpatient and ambulatory rehabilitation, aged care services, and the Pain Management Unit, supporting individuals to achieve improved health, wellbeing and quality of life.
In this role, you will apply your clinical knowledge and skills across a diverse range of presentations, delivering both individual and group-based interventions. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to health promotion and education activities, and develop strong professional networks to support integrated care. The successful applicant will exercise independent professional judgement in routine clinical matters and undertake more complex or novel clinical tasks with professional supervision and support, which will decrease as expertise and experience develop.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your clinical skills across rehabilitation, aged care, chronic pain and community health settings while contributing to a service committed to evidence-based practice and person-centred care. You will also have opportunities to participate in supervision, mentoring and training activities, supporting the ongoing development of colleagues and students where required.
Note: A merit pool may be established from this recruitment process and will remain valid for 12 months. This pool may be used to fill similar roles and future vacant positions at the same level across CHS.
