Fabricator/Welder

ABOUT THE ROLE
Andrew's Trade Services is seeking an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our growing team in Swan Hill, VIC. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your technical skills in a dynamic work environment. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality fabrication and agricultural maintenance services to our diverse customer base, contributing directly to the success and reputation of our business.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Performing welding operations using various techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding

• Fabricating metal structures and components according to specifications and technical drawings

• Operating cutting equipment such as plasma cutters, oxy-acetylene torches and angle grinders to prepare materials

• Measuring and marking materials accurately to ensure precise dimensions and fit

• Inspecting completed work to verify quality and adherence to specifications

• Maintaining and calibrating welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety

• Keeping work areas, tools, equipment, and machines clean and organised

• Assisting in other areas of the business including general workshop, mechanics, and farm maintenance

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Proven experience as a Fabricator/Welder

• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG and stick welding

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately

• Strong problem‑solving skills with a resourceful approach

• High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship

• Physical fitness and ability to work in varying conditions

• Comfortable working outdoors in different weather environments

• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Skills in agricultural maintenance and repair favourable but not essential

LICENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Certificate III Engineering (Fabrication Trade)

• Current driver’s licence

• Licence to operate a forklift truck ticket, or willingness to obtain

• Conduct telescopic materials handler operations ticket, or willingness to obtain

• Work safely at heights ticket, or willingness to obtain

• Enter and work in confined spaces ticket, or willingness to obtain
