Credit Analyst

About the role

Commercial Equity Group is seeking a motivated Credit Analyst to join our small, dedicated equipment finance team in Launceston, Tasmania. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills, sound credit judgement and an interest in asset and equipment finance.

Key responsibilities

• Assess equipment finance applications in line with company credit policy, risk appetite and responsible lending obligations where applicable
• Analyse customer financial information, cash flow, affordability, security position and creditworthiness
• Review supporting documentation including financial statements, bank statements, asset details, invoices and business information
• Prepare concise credit submissions and recommendations for approval
• Liaise with clients, brokers, suppliers and internal team members throughout the application and settlement process
• Manage approval conditions, settlement requirements and compliance checks accurately and efficiently
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement of credit processes and turnaround times
• Support a collaborative small-team environment focused on quality outcomes for customers and referral partners

About you

• Experience in credit assessment, equipment finance, asset finance, commercial lending, banking or financial services
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and identify key credit risks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear credit recommendations
• High attention to detail, sound judgement and strong organisational skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and service standards
• A practical, customer-focused mindset and willingness to work closely with a small, experienced team
• Understanding of commercial credit, asset finance structures and PPSR/security documentation will be highly regarded
