About Our Team
The Formation and Engagement Services oversees BCE’s core strategic priority to deepen the understanding of and engagement with the Catholic Tradition, Scripture, and Theology among employees, students, and families through professional development, formation and experiential opportunities, alongside the development of contemporary resources that embed the Catholic Identity Framework within BCE schools and offices. This service area of BCE articulates a contemporary Catholic Christian worldview, to animate the centrality of Jesus and responsibility to enact Catholic Social Teachings. This includes creation and oversight of experiential learning opportunities, including pilgrimages; In- and On-Country Encounters; and Religious Education Conferences.
Summary
As the Manager – Formation & Engagement: Education, you will lead the design and delivery of Religious Education and formation initiatives that strengthen Catholic identity across schools. This is a strategic leadership role where you’ll shape professional learning, develop contemporary resources, and partner with school leaders to enhance student formation and educational outcomes. You’ll play a key role in connecting strategy to practice, ensuring initiatives are meaningful, contemporary and impactful in school communities. This is an opportunity to influence system-wide practice while supporting leaders and teams to confidently embed Catholic identity in everyday learning.

About The Opportunity
In this position you will:
Lead the development and delivery of Religious Education programs, formation opportunities and contemporary resourcesDrive implementation of the Catholic Identity Framework, including formation experiences such as retreats and service learningProvide strategic leadership and advice to strengthen Religious Education and student formation across schoolsDesign and oversee professional learning for leaders and teachers to support effective Religious Education pedagogyOversee development and continuous improvement of Religious Education curriculum, guidelines and associated resourcesPartner with school leaders and stakeholders to embed Catholic identity and drive improved outcomes through data-informed practiceFoster strong networks and lead a high-performing team, building capability and a collaborative culture
About You
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
Deep knowledge of Catholic theology, Religious Education and formation practicesExperience leading strategic initiatives, programs or professional learning in an education contextStrong ability to design, implement and evaluate programs, policies and resourcesProven capability to influence, collaborate and build partnerships across diverse stakeholdersExperience supporting teachers and leaders to improve pedagogy and student outcomesA data-informed approach to decision-making and continuous improvementCommitment to the mission and values of Catholic educationRelevant postgraduate qualifications (or working towards) in Religious Education, Theology, or a related fieldFor this position you are required to be Catholic
