Disability Support Worker (Casual) (FEMALE ONLY)

The position

We are seeking Support Workers to join our supportive and growing team to work with a participant in Supported Independent Living (SIL) Accomodation in the outer northern suburbs (Location TBD, either Craigieburn, Wollert, Roxburgh Park, or Donnybrook.)

This position also has the added bonus of further opportunities and growth within the organisation and field.

Positions available for day, morning, afternoon, early evening, sleep overs and weekends. The hours are dependent on participant needs.

Qualifications & experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of disability and mental health.
• Experience in the Support Worker or Disability Field
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
• Victorian Driver's license and vehicle
• NDIS worker Screening Check (willing to obtain)
• Demonstrates knowledge in Forensics

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer/technology knowledge.
• Excellent customer service skills and genuine care and attention to our participants.
• Good time management and organisational skills.
• Have passion for what you do.
• Turkish language skills are preferred, but not necessary.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Work with people who have varying needs with a variety of disabilities.
• Hoisting, manual handling and physical support of participant.
• Flexible work arrangements around peoples’ individual needs, including shift times/days, personal care tasks and manual handling.
• You may need to undergo additional training such has manual handling, medication training etc.
