ABOUT THE ROLE

We seek disability support workers to provide assistance with daily living and community access support to people living with a disability. Our ideal candidate will have flexible availability.

Tasks may include:

• Assist participants with all aspects of daily personal care with dignity and respect.
• Perform safe manual handling tasks, including the skilled operation of hoists and mobility aids.
• Provide transport for community participation and appointments using your own insured vehicle.
• Support participants in building capacity, pursuing personal goals, and engaging in social, cultural, and recreational activities.
• Assist with meal preparation, domestic support, and daily household routines.
• Follow person-centered care plans and support positive behavior management strategies.
• Maintain clear, precise documentation and case notes in alignment with participant NDIS plans.
• Adhere strictly to NDIS quality standards, safety guidelines, and incident reporting protocols.
• Maintain professional boundaries, participant confidentiality, and uphold choice and control at all times.

Hours and Rosterings

Shifts range from 2 to 10 hours per day, with opportunities up to 76 hours per fortnight based on candidate availability and suitability. Consistent weekly availability is highly valued.

ABOUT YOU

Location Note: The ideal candidate must be willing to travel across the Illawarra and Nowra for rostered shifts.

You are a empathetic, proactive professional who thrives in both independent and team settings. You bring exceptional communication skills, sound problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to person-centered care. Hands-on experience with personal care routines and physical support equipment is essential for this position.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Practical experience in personal care and manual handling
• Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC)
• NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Worker Orientation Module ("Quality, Safety and You").
• Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• Current First Aid and CPR Certifications.
• Unrestricted Australian Driver’s License with access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle.
• Certificate III/IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent industry experience is highly regarded.
