Finance Officer

Marnong Estate is a premier winery and hospitality destination nestled in Mickleham, Melbourne's northwest — a thriving hub encompassing award-winning accommodation, food & beverage experiences, and a world-class function and events venue. Our sister company, Marnong Wines, produces exceptional wine born directly from the vineyard that surrounds us.

We are looking for an "outside the BOX" Finance Officer who has a true passion for the hospitality and wine industry to become a permanent member of the Team.

About the role

Based in the Finance Office at Marnong Estate, you will work Monday to Friday (inclusive) with core business hours being 9am to 5pm. This is an on-site role and does not cater for hybrid duties. Your duties will straddle financial accounting activities across both Marnong Estate and Marnong Wines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial accounting services to Marnong Wines (sales, stock management, debtors, creditors, etc.)

• Manage Marnong Estate receipts across multiple platforms (Stripe, Humanitix, Square, Hungry Hungry, Ivvy, Xero)

• Review and manage all Estate debtors (RMS, Ordermate, Xero)

• Review daily revenue reports, compile revenue workpapers, and input into Xero Accounting

• Assist with the Weekly Sales Report

• Participate in the Month-End Accounting process as directed by the Financial Controller

• Assist with Budget & Forecast updates across business units

• Contribute to software project implementation and ongoing system improvement initiatives

• Undertake ongoing review and analysis of system streamlining and policy/procedure refinement

• Leverage AI tools (including Claude AI and Microsoft Copilot) to drive efficiency and innovation

About you

• A forward-thinking professional with strong attention to detail, highly organised, and passionate about food, wine and numbers

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to learn and scale up across various software programs (Ordermate, Restoke, Xero, Deputy, Ivvy, RMS, Vintrace)

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• A sound ability to develop lasting professional relationships with everyone you engage with

• Strong experience in finance within hospitality and/or winery industry

• Experience with Xero, Vintrace

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines

• Highly organised with a keen eye for detail

• Efficient and able to work in a fast-paced environment

• Proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership over tasks
