cape group is a newly formed brand resulting from the merger of Nadrasca and Brite, two NDIS registered providers with a combined 120 years in operation across the eastern and northern suburbs. Together, we provide a range of services for people with disability, including home and living supports, social and community participation activities, youth employment assistance, supported employment, and NDIS support coordination.

The Position

The Senior Employment Coach works within the Employment Services Team to assist our supported team members to achieve their vocational goals through coaching, feedback, and tailored employment experiences. The role includes participating in recruitment processes, maintaining accurate documentation, managing risks and behaviours, and working collaboratively to meet NDIS standards and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Core Responsibilities

• Identify employees’ employment goals and actively support their progress to achieving these goals.
• Share concepts and ideas appropriately and effectively.
• Participate in the interview, induction, work trial and wage assessment process for all new supported employee. This will include interviews, reference checks, and periodic reviews during the work trial.
• Actively support employees to maintain their employment.
• Actively listen to and effectively respond to employee feedback. Prepare high quality case notes in relation to progress of achieving goals. Also, emails, and other written materials are appropriate and effective.
• Function as part of a team responsible for meeting and improving performance and achieving compliance against the NDIS Practice Standards.
• Assess and manage risk and behaviours.
• Undertake offsite employment experiences with employees, and supporting employees with work experience or open employment 

Employee Planning and Development

• Participate as required within the Employment Services Team to administer annual Employee
  Assistance Plan (EAP) and 6 monthly EAP reviews. (Including the assessment of
  employees, conducting meetings, and facilitating employee goals).
• Identify and assist in the delivery of employee training needs across the organisation.
• Assist in the development and delivery of ‘off the job’ training as required.
• Support all processes through relevant administrative and planning tasks.

Administration

• Accurate and up to date administration including case notes on client progress against goals, funding requirements, periodic reporting, recording absences and individual risk assessments.
• Prepare high quality case notes in relation to progress of achieving goals. Ensure emails and other written materials are appropriate and effective. 

Qualifications and Experience 

• Demonstrated ability to be professional and effective in interactions when working with people with disabilities and/or those facing disadvantage and at least two years’ experience in a comparable field
• Formal qualifications (Cert IV in Disability and/or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalents)
• Working knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards
• Highly effective skills in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel); proficient knowledge of Office 365 SharePoint will be highly regarded.
• Appreciation of or experience working within a business environment
• Current Driver’s licence
