Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will manage a varied litigation practice, with a particular focus on advocacy, insurance and property damage matters.

Tasks will include, but are not limited to:

• Managing litigation and dispute resolution matters from commencement through to resolution

• Appearing for clients in court, tribunal and other dispute resolution forums

• Providing strategic legal advice to clients and insurers

• Drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions, correspondence and other legal documents

• Reviewing evidence, advising on prospects and developing litigation strategies

• Conducting legal research and preparing written advice

• Liaising with clients, insurers, counsel and other relevant stakeholders

• Managing court deadlines, procedural requirements and file compliance

• Supporting junior lawyers and legal support staff where appropriate

• Contributing to the continued development of the firm's litigation practice

Skills and Experience

We are seeking an experienced Solicitor Advocate with strong litigation and advocacy experience.

To be considered for this position, you will possess:

• A current Australian practising certificate

• Demonstrated experience in civil litigation and advocacy

• Experience in insurance and/or property damage litigation will be highly regarded

• Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedure and relevant legislation

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong drafting, negotiation and legal research skills

• Sound analytical and problem solving abilities

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

• The ability to manage a busy caseload and competing deadlines

• Confidence to appear independently and make sound decisions under pressure

• A commercial and practical approach to legal matters

• The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment

• A professional and client-focused approach
