Key Responsibilities

• Analyse project specifications and drawings to develop accurate, competitive cost estimates for fabrication and machining projects.

• Prepare detailed breakdowns of labour, materials, and subcontract costs.

• Collaborate with design, production, and procurement teams to optimize cost estimates and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Maintain and update historical cost data and develop standard estimating processes.

• Communicate with internal clients to understand project requirements, timelines, and budgets.

• Ensure that estimates align with company standards and profitability goals.
   

What We’re Looking For

Experience: 3+ years of experience in fabrication and machining estimating, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of metal fabrication, machining processes, materials, and standards.
Attention to Detail: Ability to read technical drawings, CAD models and specifications with a high degree of accuracy.
Analytical Skills: Excellent numerical and analytical skills for calculating costs and timelines.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and CAD programs is required.

Eligibility Requirements

• Due to the nature of our defense-related work, applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required Australian Government security clearance and meet applicable defense and export-control requirements.

• Australian citizenship may be required for certain projects and security clearances.

• Candidates will be required to satisfy relevant security, background and eligibility checks.
