About the role
Diploma Qualified Lead Educator – Toddler Room
Little Wishes Early Learning Centre – Chermside
Permanent | 5 days or minimum 4 days per week
Up to $42 per hour + Superannuation
Experienced Lead Educator
You know you're good at what you do — so we want to know you.
We're looking for an experienced Diploma qualified Lead Educator who takes genuine pride in their practice, leads with purpose and is ready to take ownership of our Toddler Room.
If you're the Lead Educator who can confidently lead a team, build meaningful relationships with children and families, create an engaging child-led program and consistently hold yourself and your team to a high professional standard — we want you at Little Wishes Chermside.
This isn't simply a position where you'll be responsible for a room.
It's an opportunity to lead, influence and make a lasting difference.
Your opportunity to lead
As our Toddler Room Lead Educator, you'll take ownership of the room's educational program while supporting and developing the educators around you.
You'll have the autonomy to:
Lead and inspire your room team.
Develop and implement an engaging, child-led educational program.
Guide programming, documentation and critical reflection.
Follow children's interests and develop meaningful learning projects.
Build strong, genuine relationships with children and families.
Create intentional learning environments that promote curiosity and agency.
Mentor educators and contribute to their professional growth.
Work collaboratively with the wider leadership team to maintain high-quality practice.
You'll lead the room — but you won't lead alone.
Our leadership structure has been intentionally designed to give educators the support, guidance and leadership they need to succeed.
Why stand with Little Wishes?
Little Wishes Chermside is an Exceeding-rated, family-owned early learning service committed to exceptional outcomes for children — and an exceptional working environment for educators.
At Little Wishes, achieving an Exceeding National Quality Standard rating wasn't the finish line.
It was the beginning of something bigger.
As expectations around educational quality, child safety and compliance continue to grow, we've invested in a leadership model rarely seen in early childhood education: our Dual Director Leadership Model.
Rather than asking one Centre Director to juggle everything, we've invested in two experienced leaders, each specialising in what they do best.
Our Director of Operations leads compliance, systems, HR, health and safety and operational excellence.
Our Director of Pedagogy is dedicated to curriculum, mentoring, coaching, educational leadership and supporting educators to continuously strengthen their practice.
It's a significant investment.
But we believe educators deserve leaders who have time to lead.
And children deserve educators who are supported to do their very best work.
You'll have:
Up to $42 per hour + Superannuation.
An Exceeding-rated early learning service where you can grow, develop and take your career to the next level.
Genuine family-owned and actively involved leadership.
A dedicated Director of Pedagogy supporting educational excellence.
Ongoing mentoring, coaching and professional development.
Autonomy and trust in your professional practice.
Exceptional resources and thoughtfully designed learning environments.
A workplace culture built on respect, teamwork and high standards.
Genuine career pathways as our organisation continues to grow.
What we expect from our Lead Educators
We're not looking for someone who simply wants to be in charge of a room.
We're looking for someone who understands that leadership is about people, practice and purpose.
You will:
Hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or be working towards it.
Have proven experience as a Lead Educator or Room Leader.
Be confident leading a team and taking genuine ownership of a room.
Have strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQF and Child Safe Standards.
Be confident with programming, documentation and critical reflection.
Build genuine relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Lead by example and maintain high professional standards.
Be reflective, organised and proactive.
Be committed to continuous improvement.
Value child-led learning and meaningful educational experiences.
Want the autonomy and responsibility that comes with leading a room.
We believe great leadership starts with accountability.
At Little Wishes, we have high expectations because children deserve our best.
We value educators who take ownership, reflect honestly, welcome feedback and are committed to continually improving their practice.
You don't need to know everything.
But you do need to care.
You need to care about your practice.
You need to care about the children.
You need to care about your team.
And you need to care enough to keep getting better.
That's the kind of leader we want leading our Toddler Room.
If you're an experienced Lead Educator who knows you have more to give…
If you're ready to be trusted with genuine autonomy…
If you want to work within a leadership team that will support you rather than simply expect you to manage everything yourself…
This could be your next move.
At Little Wishes, we don't want to simply fill positions.
We want to find exceptional educators, invest in them and create an environment where great practice can thrive.
We're committed to setting a new benchmark for early childhood education — and we're looking for people who want to be part of it.
Apply through SEEK today and tell us what makes you the right fit for Little Wishes Chermside.
