About the role
Stroud Homes Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Finishing Off Carpenter to join our team in Rockhampton, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality residential builds to our clients. As a Finishing Off Carpenter, you will be responsible for the final stages of carpentry work on new homes, ensuring every detail meets our exacting standards and client expectations. This role is integral to our commitment to excellence in the building industry, where precision, attention to detail, and craftsmanship are paramount.
Key responsibilities
Execute final carpentry work including installation of internal doors, architraves, skirting boards, and door frames
Precision and attention to detail
Fit and finish ceilings, including cornices and ceiling roses where applicable
Perform quality checks and remedial work to ensure all carpentry meets project specifications and building standards
Cut, shape and prepare timber components for installation with own tools.
Collaborate effectively with other trades to ensure seamless integration of carpentry work within project timelines
Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Communicate with supervisor regarding project progress and any issues requiring attention
Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications accurately
Use measurements and marking techniques to ensure accurate placement and fitting of all components
What we're looking for
Formal carpentry qualifications or demonstrated apprenticeship in carpentry or cabinet making
Experience and trade qualification in residential carpentry, particularly in finishing work
Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and machinery relevant to carpentry work
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high-quality standards consistently
Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications accurately
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to site conditions
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other trades and team members
A current driver's license and reliability in meeting project deadlines
Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards and safety regulations in Queensland
Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
