About the role

Livin Homes is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis in Perth, WA 6000. This is a key position within our building company, where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality carpentry work across our residential projects. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures and fittings, ensuring all work meets our exacting standards and complies with relevant building codes and regulations. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects whilst contributing to Livin Homes' reputation for excellence in the building trades sector.

Key responsibilities

• Measure, mark, and cut timber and other materials to precise specifications using hand tools and power tools

• Construct and install wooden frameworks, including walls, floors, roofs, and staircases

• Fit and install doors, windows, shelving, and other wooden fixtures and fittings

• Read and interpret building plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of work

• Prepare work sites by clearing debris and organising materials and equipment safely

• Collaborate with other tradespeople and site teams to ensure effective project delivery

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and follow health and safety protocols at all times

• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met and address any defects or issues

• Contribute to maintaining a safe and productive working environment on site

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar carpentry role within the building trades industry

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in carpentry work

• Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in carpentry

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

• Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions

• A valid driver's licence and reliable transport to job sites across Perth (Vehicle on offer after successful probation period)

• Relevant carpentry qualifications or certifications (apprenticeship completion or equivalent)

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
