Lead innovative clinical research within a leading ICU, supporting evidence-based practice, developing research capability and improving patient outcomes. This role is Temporay part-time, starting from 12th of October 2026 to 11th of October 2027 with the possibility of an extension.

Your new role:

As The Research Nurse Manager Within The Intensive Care Unit At Princess Alexandra Hospital, You Will Provide Advanced Clinical And Professional Leadership Across a Diverse Portfolio Of Research Projects And Programs. Working Within a Highly Regarded Research Environment, You Will Coordinate And Oversee Clinical Research, Support Evidence-based Practice And Build Research Capability Across The Team.You Will

Lead, coordinate and evaluate multiple concurrent clinical research projects and programs.Support the delivery of investigator-initiated, multicentre and sponsored clinical trials within the ICU environment.Promote research governance, quality improvement and evidence-based clinical practice.Provide expert research advice, education, mentoring and support to clinical staff and emerging researchers.

About You

You are an experienced Registered Nurse with strong ICU experience and a passion for clinical research, innovation and improving patient outcomes. You will bring advanced clinical knowledge, strong research capability and the confidence to lead and influence within a multidisciplinary environment. You will:

Demonstrate experience in clinical research, research methodologies and managing research projects.Bring strong ICU knowledge and experience, with an understanding of conducting research within the intensive care environment.Build strong relationships with clinicians, researchers, patients, families and external stakeholders through effective communication and collaboration.Mentor and educate others, build research capability and contribute to innovation and practice change.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.

We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
