Role of Network Support Team Lead

This role is responsible for leading the support work for the Stronger Communities Network.  

The NST lead will be responsible for creating and managing central resources, training content and communications. This important work will enable the strong, locally led community organising undertaken by the Stronger Communities Network. Support will initially be prioritised for Tomorrow Movement local teams in Wollongong, Western Sydney and Naarm/Melbourne and will be expanded to other aligned groups as the Network grows.

This role is also responsible for leading on biannual whole-movement gatherings, bringing young leaders from across the Stronger Communities Network together for in-person training, skill sharing and relationship building.

The NST Lead will always have an eye to movement DNA and will support implementation of our organising culture, structure, strategy and story.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead on resource development to communicate movement DNA and organising skills to SCN member groups. 
• Lead on designing and implementing centralised training sessions based on needs of on-the-ground organisers. 
• Run the centralised Tomorrow Movement communications channels, focussed on list emails and Instagram. 
• Hold responsibility for bringing together 50+ leaders from Wollongong, Naarm and Western Sydney for a whole-movement gathering in November 2026. 
• Convene and coordinate the Network Support Team.
• Weave Tomorrow Movement’s DNA into resources, training and all parts of national movement gatherings. 
• Monitor and intervene on movement culture, ensuring we live up to our movement values.

Secondary responsibilities

• Assist in responding to emergent campaign opportunities like nationally coordinated stunts. 
• Work with the rest of the Tomorrow Movement staff and volunteer teams on longer term campaign strategy and planning 
• Participate in Network Council meetings
• Support with on-the-ground organising when needed. 

Success metrics

• 50 people attend the whole-movement gathering in November 2026 and leave energised and inspired. 
• There is a growing library of resources and training being utilised by member groups of the Stronger Communities Network. 
• Member groups of the Stronger Communities Network grow in commitment to the Tomorrow Movement DNA. 
• The Stronger Communities Network is growing in size.

Attributes and experience that will help you perform this role 

You will be well suited to this role if you:

• Are committed to Tomorrow Movement’s goal of building a future where everyone is connected, safe and cared for. 
• Are familiar with community organising, creating volunteer resources and trainings. 
• Are comfortable managing large projects
• Understand that you are one of a few staff members in a volunteer led movement and are committed to organising yourself out of a job
• Have previous experience as a community organiser, coach, or mentor particularly in supporting volunteer teams
• Have previous experience in running trainings and event planning
• Are a strong communicator (written and verbal)
• Are committed to your own leadership development and excited to give and receive constructive feedback
• Enjoy creative problem solving and working in teams
