About the role
We are building a future where everyone is connected, safe and cared for. A future where we belong to strong communities who have the power to make our economy and politics work for everyone, instead of for profit.
By coming together across race and class, we challenge the ways capitalism and colonisation make us insecure by organising on our shared interests. We challenge how these systems disconnect us from ourselves, each other and the Earth.
Led by young people, we are growing local networks with a commitment to care, hope and justice that can take action together in moments of crisis. We are showing that the people have power when we act together.
This role is responsible for growing the strategic capacity of our movement in Western Sydney. They will focus on supporting a thriving local team in the area to lead strategic actions and training programs that will help achieve our movement’s goals as set out in our movement DNA.
Tomorrow Movement’s focus in Western Sydney will be building community power around the emerging issue of data centre development. We will do this using momentum organising, by communicating the urgency of the crisis and activating the public. Working with our staff and volunteer teams across the Stronger Communities Network, the Organiser will support hundreds of young people to grow a powerful team running campaigns in Western Sydney.
The Organiser will always have an eye to movement DNA and will support implementation of our organising culture, structure, strategy and story.
