About our team
The Planning and Construction team is responsible for overseeing all property-related processes, ensuring the strategic acquisition of land in alignment with the new school development plan, and maintaining existing schools to the highest standards. The team manages the planning, design, and development of new schools and building projects while also coordinating maintenance activities, funding applications, and approval processes. Additionally, they collaborate closely with local authorities, architects, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Summary

The Planning and Construction Officer supports the successful delivery of construction and infrastructure projects through high-quality project administration, reporting and operational support. Working within the Planning and Construction team, you will coordinate documentation, stakeholder communications and project activities while contributing to process improvements and team success. This role is ideal for an organised and proactive administrator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

About the opportunity

In this position you will: 

• Coordinate project administration activities including reporting, document control, records management, budget tracking and stakeholder communications
• Prepare reports, briefings, correspondence and progress updates for senior leaders and key stakeholders
• Monitor project documentation and administrative activities, identifying issues and supporting timely resolution
• Provide operational and procedural support to internal and external stakeholders while managing enquiries and administrative requirements
• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of team activities, meetings, reporting and operational priorities
• Contribute to the review and improvement of processes, procedures and administrative systems to enhance efficiency and consistency
• Work collaboratively across the Planning and Construction team to support the successful delivery of projects and strategic objectives

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• High attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records, reports and documentation
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with a variety of stakeholders
• A proactive approach to problem solving and identifying opportunities for process improvement
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and administrative systems.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
• A commitment to providing high-quality service and supporting organisational goals through effective administration
• Experience in project administration, construction administration, project management support or a similar role

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
• Ability to obtain a National Criminal History check prior to commencement
