Bar Supervisor

About the role

Middle Harbour 16ft Skiff Club is seeking a Bar and Bistro Supervisor to join our hospitality team on a casual basis (15-20 hours per week). This is an exciting opportunity to help lead and manage our bar operations at our venue in Mosman. As Bar Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring exceptional service delivery, maintaining high standards of customer care, and overseeing the day-to-day running of the bar during your shifts. This position offers the flexibility of casual work whilst providing genuine leadership responsibilities within our vibrant club environment.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising and managing bar staff during shifts, ensuring efficient and friendly service to all patrons

• Preparing and serving a variety of beverages with accuracy and flair, maintaining high presentation standards

• Monitoring stock levels of spirits, wines, beers and mixers, and communicating ordering requirements to management

• Ensuring compliance with responsible service of alcohol practices and relevant licensing laws

• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including glassware, equipment and work surfaces

• Handling cash and card transactions accurately and securely

• Providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for club members and guests

• Managing challenging situations professionally and resolving customer concerns

• Contributing to the overall success of club events and functions as required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in a bar or hospitality environment, with demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol)

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining quality standards and customer satisfaction

• Strong numeracy and cash handling skills with experience using point-of-sale systems

• Impeccable personal presentation and professional demeanour

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating positive customer experiences

• Preferred: Experience within a club
