About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Bistro/Bar Supervisor to join our team on a casual basis at Mudgee Brewing Co in Mudgee, NSW. This is a key supervisory position that plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining high standards of service, and creating a positive experience for both our customers and team members. The Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing bar and bistro operations, managing staff, and upholding our reputation for excellence in hospitality. This role reports directly to management and is essential to the success of our venue.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising and coordinating the daily operations of the bistro and bar areas, ensuring all service standards are consistently met

• Managing and mentoring bar and bistro staff, including scheduling, training, and performance feedback

• Ensuring compliance with all relevant hospitality regulations, liquor licensing laws, and health and safety requirements

• Delivering exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction

• Processing payments, managing cash registers, and reconciling financial records at the end of shifts

• Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the bistro and bar areas to the highest standards

• Preparing and serving food and beverages with accuracy and speed during service periods

• Handling customer complaints professionally and resolving issues in a timely manner

• Assisting with promotional activities and events to drive customer engagement and venue revenue

• Collaborating with the broader Mudgee Brewing Co team to ensure seamless operations across all departments

What we're looking for

• Proven supervisory or management experience in a hospitality, bar, or bistro environment

• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and liquor licensing regulations

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations diplomatically and professionally

• Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and motivating team members

• Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic bookkeeping or cash handling experience

• Knowledge of beverages, cocktails, and craft beer

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, can-do attitude

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required in a casual capacity

• Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification

• A passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences for guests
