We're Buildfix — a national structural repair company. We fix houses that are cracking, sinking or holding damp. Small residential jobs across Brisbane's northside — a different address most days, same crew every day.

We're not hiring a shovel for six months. We're hiring someone worth training.

What the day actually looks like

Meet the crew, head to the job, walk it with the homeowner and talk them through what's happening — they're standing in their own backyard, and how you explain the work matters as much as how you do it. Then it's on the tools: drilling into slabs and footings, injecting resin, watching your levels as the house comes back, and sorting the odd mechanical gremlin when the gear plays up.

Every day's a different suburb, a different house, a different customer — but the job's the same each time. That's how you get good. Do it for a year and you'll read a cracked wall the way a mechanic reads an engine.

It's physical and it's outdoors. That part doesn't change.

What's on offer

• $35–40 an hour depending on what you're bringing

• Guaranteed 40 hours' pay every week — rain, hail, or a quiet Tuesday

• Paid, structured training with a real career path behind it, not a promise in an ad. You'll work with a 5+ year Buildfix veteran, who started from an ad just like this.

• Same crew every day — the blokes training you today are the ones working beside you in six months

• Work's mainly northside — if you're local, the commute's short. Crew's based around Kippa-Ring, and pickup can be sorted if you're nearby

• Permanent full-time on the books. Not casual, not labour hire

Who this suits

• You've done a year or two of something hands-on — building labouring, landscaping, mechanical work, farm work

• You can pick up a drill or a grinder and use it without a demonstration

• You're handy enough to troubleshoot gear when it stops mid-job, not just wait for someone else to

• You're comfortable talking to homeowners — clear, polite, straight — because you'll do it every single day

• Full driver's licence essential, and your own car gets you to the crew each morning — pickup's possible around Kippa-Ring, but you need to be able to get yourself there reliably

• You're northside, or the drive doesn't bother you

• You're looking for a career path, something enjoyable where your efforts are valued each day

What this job isn't

• It's not a subbie gig — no ABNs

• It's not a big site with a crew to hide in — it's a tight crew on small jobs, and everyone pulls

• It's not for someone who's never held a power tool — we train the trade, not the basics

• It's not for someone who'd rather not deal with people — the customer's home the whole time, and talking to them is part of the job

• It's not a fill-in job. If you're leaving the second something else comes up, or moving out the area, save us both the time
