Qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic – Busselton WA

Active Hydraulics & Mechanical Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced and confident Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our growing workshop in Busselton.

We are a busy independent mechanical workshop working across a broad range of vehicles, including passenger vehicles, 4WDs, commercial vehicles and European makes.

This role would suit a mechanic who is capable of working independently, takes pride in their work and is comfortable carrying out more than just basic servicing.

About the role

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Logbook and general vehicle servicing

• Mechanical repairs and fault finding

• Brake and suspension repairs

• Steering repairs

• Cooling system repairs

• Water pumps and thermostats

• Timing belt replacements

• Timing chain repairs and replacements

• Clutch and driveline repairs

• Vehicle inspections

• Diagnostic scanning and electrical fault finding

• General engine repairs

• Completing jobs accurately and within reasonable workshop times

• Providing clear information to the workshop team regarding additional repairs required

We have good workshop facilities, multiple hoists, diagnostic equipment and a varied workload.

What we are looking for

You must:

• Be a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic

• Have a minimum of 3 years post-trade experience

• Have strong mechanical fault-finding skills

• Be confident carrying out timing belts, timing chains, cooling system repairs, brakes, suspension and general mechanical repairs

• Be able to work independently without constant supervision

• Have good attention to detail

• Be reliable and organised

• Be able to communicate clearly in English

• Hold a current Australian driver's licence

• Have full Australian working rights

Experience working on European vehicles, 4WDs or light commercial vehicles would be highly regarded.

We are looking for someone genuinely experienced. This is not a position for someone who is only comfortable carrying out basic servicing.
