Goodwood Eye Centre (GEC) is a specialist ophthalmology practice delivering comprehensive, patient-centred eye care to our local community and referring practitioners. Backed by the latest technology and treatment techniques, our compassionate team works together to make sure every patient feels welcomed and well cared for.

We're looking for an experienced Practice Manager to take ownership of the strategic, operational, financial and people leadership of our practice. This is a full-time role offering genuine autonomy and influence - you'll be trusted to lead complex operational and financial functions, shape practice strategy, and drive outcomes across every part of the business.

About the Role

You will:

• Own the financial performance and commercial sustainability of the practice, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue strategy and reporting to Directors

• Lead day-to-day operations to ensure efficient patient flow, scheduling and clinic utilisation

• Provide senior leadership to our administrative and reception team, including workforce planning, performance management and development

• Champion the patient experience, monitoring feedback and reputation, and identifying opportunities for growth

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Medicare/private billing requirements and accreditation standards

• Partner with the Directors on strategic planning and translating this into operational targets and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

You're calm, professional and patient-focused, with a reliable and adaptable approach. You're comfortable rolling up your sleeves across both clinical and administrative functions when needed, and you take confidentiality, safety and continuous learning seriously. You have:

• Demonstrated experience in practice management, operations management, or senior administrative leadership - ideally within healthcare or a specialist medical practice

• Strong financial management and analytical skills, including budgeting and performance reporting

• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• The ability to work autonomously and exercise sound strategic judgement

• Experience in ophthalmology, optometry or specialist medical practice highly regarded

• Working knowledge of Medicare, DVA and private billing processes is a bonus
