About the role

Clarion Hotel Townsville, a small CBD hotel is seeking a practical, self-motivated and guest-focused Hotel Accommodation Manager to lead the day-to-day hotel operation in Townsville.

This role is ideal for an experienced Front Office Manager ready to take the next step in their career or current small hotel manager. You will take ownership of this hotel environment, lead a high-performing team, deliver exceptional guest service, and working with the owners and wider group management direction.

You will be front facing the hotel operation, balancing warm hospitality with strong systems, leadership, revenue awareness and hands-on problem solving. Proven ability seeking out local sales and revenue opportunities would be highly regarded and will assist in driving business growth and strengthening community relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Managing the daily accommodation operation, including bookings, arrivals, departures and guest enquiries.

• Leading front office standards and ensuring a smooth, professional and friendly guest experience.

• Supervising housekeeping/cleaning teams, including rostering, standards, stock control and follow-up on room presentation.

• Supporting revenue management, rate reviews, OTA/channel performance and occupancy opportunities.

• Using hotel systems and administration processes accurately, including PMS, email bookings, OTA bookings and reporting tools.

• Handling guest feedback, resolving issues professionally and maintaining a calm approach during busy periods.

• Working with owners/offsite management to keep the business running efficiently.

• Take a hands-on approach to hotel operations, confidently based from the front desk, with guest service, and stepping into housekeeping functions as required to support the team and ensure seamless operations including weekends and nights.

About you

• Previous accommodation hotel operations experience, with front office and revenue management responsibilities.

• Confident with hotel management software/PMS systems. RMS experience would be highly regarded.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional phone and guest service manner.

• Highly organised, reliable and able to prioritise in a busy operating environment.

• Comfortable leading and coordinating a small team, including housekeeping or cleaning staff.

• Commercially aware, seeking out local sales opportunities, with an interest in revenue, pricing, occupancy, OTA performance and guest conversion.

• Accountable, resilient and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage conflict or guest concerns respectfully.

• A hands-on manager running the hotel from the front desk and on the floor, who leads by example.

• A genuine commitment to continuous improvement and high standards of guest service, attracting repeat business.
