Disability Support Worker - High Intensity Supports

About the Role

You will provide person-centred support to a 31 year old man living with cerebral palsy who enjoys music, movies, social connection, walks, sensory activities, and spending quality time with family.

This role involves supporting the participant in a family home environment and assisting with personal care and health-related support needs.

Shifts Available

• Fortnightly Sunday: 4:30pm to 7:30pm
• Every Monday: 7:30am to 10:30am

Additional shifts may become available over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal care support, including showering
• Medication administration
• PEG feeding
• Providing safe, dignified, and person-centred support
• Building positive relationships with the participant and family
• Following care plans and organisational procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience supporting people with disability
• Experience delivering high-intensity supports
• Current competency or willingness to undertake training in:
  • PEG feeding
  • Epilepsy management
  • Catheter care
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A mature, reliable, and professional approach
• Commitment to person-centred practice and inclusion

Requirements

• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Australian working rights
• Relevant qualifications in Disability, Individual Support, Nursing, or related field (desirable)
