About the role

Paradise Point Butchery and Seafood is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Butcher Retail to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced retail environment, where you will combine your butchery expertise with exceptional customer service. Based in Paradise Point, QLD 4216, this role is central to delivering premium quality meat products and an outstanding shopping experience to our valued customers. You will be at the heart of our operation, ensuring that every customer receives expert advice and the finest cuts of meat.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing, cutting and portioning meat to meet customer specifications and quality standards

• Displaying meat products attractively whilst maintaining strict food safety and hygiene protocols

• Assisting customers with product selection and providing knowledgeable recommendations based on their requirements

• Operating meat cutting machinery safely and maintaining all equipment in proper working condition

• Managing stock levels, rotating products and ensuring proper storage and temperature control

• Processing orders and handling transactions at the retail counter with professionalism and efficiency

• Maintaining a clean and organised work environment in compliance with food safety regulations

• Building positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and customer loyalty

• Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and customer satisfaction

What we're looking for

• Formal butchery qualifications or substantial experience in a butchery or meat retail environment

• Proficiency in using butchery equipment and knives with precision and safety awareness

• Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat, quality grading and preparation methods

• Understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP principles

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport

• Physical fitness and capability to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy items safely

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality and presentation

• A reliable and professional approach to work with strong time management skills

• Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role would be advantageous
