Gourmet On Demand is looking for an experienced and reliable Retail Butcher to join our growing team and work alongside our Senior Butcher.

We are an independent, family-owned gourmet butcher and deli with a strong focus on quality meats, gourmet products, presentation and outstanding customer service.

We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in the butchery trade, has strong practical skills and enjoys being part of a quality-focused retail environment.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced butcher who wants to use their skills, contribute ideas and become a valued member of a growing independent business.

Working closely alongside our Senior Butcher, you will assist with the day-to-day operation of our retail butchery and preparation of our fresh meat and gourmet product range.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cutting, trimming, slicing and preparing a variety of meats

• Breaking down and portioning meat for retail sale

• Preparing steaks, roasts, chops and other retail cuts

• Sausage preparation and production

• Preparing gourmet and value-added meat products

• Maintaining attractive, well-stocked retail displays

• Monitoring product quality, freshness and stock rotation

• Assisting with stock control and minimizing unnecessary wastage

• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness

• Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service

• Working collaboratively with our Senior Butcher and wider team

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous professional butchery experience

• Has strong and confident knife skills

• Has sound knowledge of meat cuts, preparation and portioning

• Can confidently work alongside an experienced Senior Butcher

• Takes pride in producing high-quality, well-presented products

• Has excellent food safety and hygiene standards

• Is reliable, punctual and hardworking

• Can work independently when required

• Works well as part of a team

• Has excellent communication and customer service skills

• Is comfortable working in a busy retail environment

• Has a genuine passion for quality meat and the butchery trade

Trade-qualified butchers are highly regarded.
