About the role

We are seeking a friendly, organised, and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our team at Berrimah Family Practice. This role is the first point of contact for our patients and plays a key part in the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic. Previous experience working in medical administration desirable.

Key responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and managing front-desk enquiries

• Booking and managing appointments

• Handling phone calls professionally and efficiently

• Confident working in a fast-paced environment

• Processing Medicare and private billing, payments, and end-of-day reconciliations

• Maintaining accurate patient records and confidentiality

• Supporting doctors and clinical staff as part of a collaborative team

About you

• Previous experience in a medical or healthcare reception role (preferred)

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• High attention to detail and ability to multitask

• Professional, calm, and respectful approach with patients

• Comfortable using practice management software and basic IT systems
