Casual - Kitchen Attendant

Barassi's restaurant is one of Cairns largest dining rooms within a well-appointed Club. The club dining areas are more than a restaurant or café - they are a community hub, where our members come to Meet, Drink, Eat and Play. 

The Role

We are looking for casual Kitchen Attendants to add to our team at Cazalys Cairns as we see our dining space get busier every week due to the high quality of our food. These positions offer excellent working conditions in a friendly team environment.

The successful candidates will be working within a team of chefs and kitchen attendants and will support the day-to-day operation of the kitchen through food preparation and dishwashing. The successful applicants will ensure hygiene standards of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen in accordance with company policy and procedures.

The restaurant is open 7 days per week with all-day dining (9 am-9 pm) as part of our service requirements. The focus is on a diverse club menu producing good quality food and value for money.

Duties:

• Follow all procedures for washing and sanitising all plates, utensils and cooking equipment.

• Ensure workstations and scullery areas are kept clean at all times.

• Pack away and rotate stock as directed by chefs.

• Remove all rubbish, waste and recyclable items from the kitchen and passageway and dispose of accordingly.

• Clean kitchen as required.

• Clean, sweep and mop the kitchen on completion of each shift.

Requirements:

• Confident in working within a large kitchen team

• Must be able to take direction

• Reliable and hard-working

• Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure

• Must have good availability including weekends and public holidays, in particular Friday, Saturday and Sunday to 9pm

• Must be physically fit to perform the physical attributes of the role.
