Legal Assistant/Secretary

Moss & Co Consulting is partnering with a highly regarded national law firm to recruit an experienced Legal Assistant into their Employment Law team in Melbourne.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established and genuinely close knit team, supporting at Partner level alongside a broader group of experienced lawyers.

The Role
Working within the Employment Law practice, you’ll provide high level support to a Partner and senior practitioners across a busy and varied practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diary and calendar management, including coordinating commitments while the Partner is travelling
• Inbox and email management, triaging correspondence and responding or redirecting where appropriate
• End-to-end monthly billing, including preparation and management of client bills
• Preparing, formatting and amending legal documents and correspondence
• File and matter management
• Coordinating meetings and general team administration
• Anticipating priorities and providing proactive day-to-day support

About You
We’re looking for an experienced Legal Assistant who is confident working within a busy legal environment and, importantly, knows how to stay one step ahead.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Previous Legal Assistant or legal secretarial experience
• Confidence managing busy diaries and inboxes
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• A proactive approach with plenty of initiative and common sense
• A warm, collaborative style and the ability to build strong relationships across a team

You’ll be joining a welcoming Melbourne office where the Legal Assistant team is established, supportive and genuinely gets along. Many of the team have worked together for a number of years, creating a collaborative environment where people are happy to help each other.

The firm provides a comprehensive induction and training program, including full training on its bespoke systems, so you’ll be well supported as you settle into the role.
