Role Outline

The Learning Area Coordinator is a middle leadership position responsible for the vision, leadership and effective operation of a learning area. The Coordinator leads curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and staff development to ensure high-quality teaching and learning, improved student outcomes and compliance with College, CEWA and SCSA requirements.

The Learning Area Coordinator is expected to contribute positively to the strategic direction of the College, foster a culture of continuous improvement and support the wellbeing and development of both staff and students.

The Learning Area Coordinator provides strategic and instructional leadership within the learning area and is accountable for:

• the quality and consistency of curriculum delivery, assessment and reporting practices;

• the achievement, engagement and progress of students within the learning area;

• the professional growth, support and performance of staff within the learning area;

• ensuring compliance with CEWA, SCSA and College requirements;

• fostering a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement and high expectations; and

• effective stewardship of learning area resources, facilities and budgets.
