High Intermediate Accountant

About the Company

Lutz & Associates is a well established accounting firm, located in the heart of the Southport CBD. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Intermediate Accountant (High Level) to join our friendly team.

About The Role

As an High Intermediate Account, you will be part of a small, professional team, providing accounting and taxation services to a wide range of clients from SMEs to professionals, foreign investors and ‘high net worth’ family groups.

We offer ongoing internal and external training to skill our accountants with the ability to service the increasingly complex business and taxation needs of our clients.

This role is full time - Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30am and 5pm.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparation of income tax returns and financial statements for individuals, trusts, companies, partnerships and superannuation funds

• Financial reporting

• Provide tax and accounting advice

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accounting and taxation records

• Liaising and meeting with clients

The Successful Applicant

To be successful for this role, you will possess the following skills/attributes:

• Degree qualified in Accounting

• Minimum 3 years experience

• Knowledge of Division 7A, taxation implications of trusts and companies, FBT

• Exposure to SMSFs advantageous

• CAANZ or CPA qualification advantageous

• Competent knowledge of Xero/MYOB

• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)

• Good attention to detail

• Ability to work well as part of a team and unsupervised

• Highly motivated

• Ability to fit in well with the existing team
