About the role
Part Time (0.6 FTE) | 9-Month Fixed Term Contract | Melbourne
If you are passionate about philanthropy and the for-purpose sector, and you thrive on building meaningful relationships that create real community impact, this is a role worth exploring. Joining Equity Trustees as our Trust and Grant Manager, you will step into a parental leave cover contract within our Philanthropy & Community Trustee Services team — a high-performing, values-driven group collectively responsible for overseeing approximately $120 million in community funding annually.
In this role, you will be the lead granting professional in our Medical Research & Health focus area, managing a portfolio of discretionary and non-discretionary charitable trusts and delivering on the focus area's granting strategy while continuing to support existing grant partners. No two days will be the same, and your ability to connect with people, manage competing priorities, and champion impact will be central to your success.
What You'll Do
Manage a portfolio of charitable trusts, ensuring grant agreements, distributions and trustee obligations are on track and relationships with grant partners are well maintainedLead the implementation of the Empowering Change Medical Research & Health focus area, assessing applications and presenting recommendations to relevant decision-making bodiesBuild and sustain collaborative relationships with grant partners, charitable organisations and internal stakeholders to deliver excellent client servicePrepare reports, lead reviews of grant programs and contribute to process and procedure documentationEnsure grants and payments comply with regulatory requirements and internal procedures, escalating issues where neededActively contribute to the broader PCT strategy and support the growth of EQT's philanthropy services through sharing knowledge, networks and insights
What You'll Need To Succeed
Solid experience or interest in philanthropy, trust management, grants or for-purpose sector role, with a strong focus on stakeholder and relationship managementDemonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a diverse range of clients, partners and community organisationsKnowledge of the governance and operations of charitable trusts, with an understanding of compliance frameworksExcellent communication skills — written and verbal — with strong attention to detail and organisational capabilityA collaborative, proactive mindset with a genuine commitment to community impact and continuous improvementTertiary qualifications and proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with databases or CRMs is well regarded
