Head Teacher Personal Development, Health and Physical Education- Mount Annan High School

Mount Annan High School is a comprehensive co–educational school offering an extensive curriculum for 882 students, including a support unit of seven classes and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cohort of 8%. Our school motto is 'Be the best you can be' and our core values are: Co-operate, Respect and Strive. Student leadership is constantly supported through the Student Representative Council, and our students have a very high positive profile in the community. Established in 2003, we are very well supported in our community by our parents and local organisations. Whilst we constantly strive for excellence, we test ourselves against our annual school targets and communicate via evaluation and feedback with our community on a regular basis. We have built a curriculum path that is individualised and strives to attain aspirational goals in reading and numeracy, HSC results, wellbeing and attendance, and moving all students forward to achieve these goals.

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 

1. Approval to teach and demonstrated capacity to lead academic excellence and innovation in Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE ) courses, and for high potential and gifted learners.

2. Proven ability to build a culture of high expectations, support new teachers, lead future-focused thinking, and guide curriculum development to inspire and strengthen Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE ) teachers in improving outcomes for all learners from diverse backgrounds.

3. Demonstrated capacity as a highly visible and effective leader who workers collaboratively as a member of the school executive to strengthen a positive., high-expectations school culture and lead strategic initiatives that deliver measurable, whole-school improvement in student learning, wellbeing and engagement.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
