Practice Nurse

We are actively seeking a dedicated and experienced permanent Part Time/Casual Practice Nurse (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) to become an integral part of our team at our bustling doctor-owned general practice. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care in line with best practice guidelines, clinical procedures, and patient needs.

• Work closely with GPs during patient consultations, procedures, treatments, and ongoing patient management.

• Carry out a range of general nursing duties, including wound care, ECGs, spirometry, medication administration, procedure assistance, health assessments, and Chronic Disease Management (CDM).

• Support patients with chronic health conditions through regular monitoring, care planning, health education, and follow-up.

• Assist with CVC programs by supporting patient assessments, care plans, coordination of services, documentation, and ongoing management.

• Manage the vaccine cold chain, including correct vaccine storage, temperature monitoring, documentation, stock management, and reporting of any temperature excursions.

• Apply knowledge of Medicare billing and compliance requirements, ensuring clinical documentation supports accurate and appropriate Medicare claiming.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and ensure documentation is completed in line with privacy and practice requirements.

• Develop and support individualised nursing care plans and provide patients with practical health education to help them manage their health and treatment.

• Work with GPs, allied health professionals, and other healthcare staff to provide coordinated and patient-focused care.

• Follow medication safety, infection control, workplace health and safety, and other relevant clinical and legislative requirements.

• Contribute to a safe, organised, and efficient clinical environment and support quality improvement within the practice.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a primary healthcare setting.

• Experience using Best Practice software

• Proficient in clinical nursing skills, including wound care, medication and immunisation administration, care planning and health assessments.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, consistently adopting a patient-centred approach.

• Ability to work both independently and as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Demonstrated proactive approach to learning and commitment to ongoing professional development.
