Finance Manager / Financial Controller

About the role:

Pragma Lawyers’ Finance Manager holds responsibility for the financial function of the firm, working closely with the Directors and COO, whilst streamlining processes and efficiencies to support the Pragma's continued growth. The Finance Manager is supported by a Finance Officer, reporting directly into the role. The successful applicant for this role will be CA/CPA qualified and will ideally be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

• Reconciling general and trust accounts, as well as ensuring compliance with trust accounting practices;

• Managing accounts payable and receivable, as well as overall business cashflow management;

• Administering payroll, superannuation and employee entitlements and benefits;

• Preparing and lodging tax returns, BAS, IAS, FBT, PAYG and other statutory obligations;

• Liaising with external auditors and the firm’s external accountant;

• Preparing management accounts, forecasting and productivity reporting;

• Maintaining SQL databases and Power BI dashboards for financial performance reporting;

• Manage billing processes internally and externally;

• Conduct and share financial analysis and insights at a strategic and operational level to support firm decision-making; and

• Lead, manage and mentor a growing finance team.
