About the Teachers Registration Board:

The Teachers Registration Board of South Australia (the Board) is established under the Teachers Registration and Standards Act 2004 (the Act) and the Teachers Registration and Standards Regulations 2021 to regulate the teaching profession. The object of the Act is, in the public interest, to maintain a teacher registration system and professional standards for teachers to ensure its members are competent, fit and proper to have the care of children.

The Board is an independent statutory authority, with a dynamic, integrated operating environment of approximately 40 staff, with flexible leadership and a practical focus on day-to-day implementation, where advancing teacher suitability requires both a cross­ agency and team approach.

The Board employs its own staff and is a public sector agency under the Public Sector Act 2009. The South Australian Public Sector Salaried Employees Interim Award and the South Australian Public Sector Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2026 governs the employment conditions of the Board.

The Board has entered into an Administrative Agreement with the Commissioner for Public Sector Employment (the Commissioner) and complies with the Commissioner's Determinations, Guidelines and the Code of Ethics for the South Australian Public Sector. About this exciting opportunity:

Summary of the Role:  

The Program Support Officer is accountable to the Program Director, Digital Transformation and provides high-quality administrative, governance, operational and change support to the Board’s Business Transformation program. The role contributes to the effective coordination and delivery of the program by supporting governance processes; maintaining program documentation; coordinating meetings, communications and stakeholder engagement activities; assisting with change impact assessments; supporting financial and procurement activities and supporting business readiness and training initiatives to facilitate the successful implementation and adoption of a new digital solution across the agency.

The Program Support Officer is accountable to the Program Director, Digital Transformation for:

• Providing coordinated administrative and operational support across the Digital Transformation Program, including maintaining program registers, schedules, documentation and records and supporting program financial, procurement and logistical activities to enable effective program delivery.
• Supporting program governance activities including coordinating meetings and workshops, preparing agendas and papers, recording minutes (including actions and decisions), assisting with reporting and monitoring requirements and maintaining program governance documentation.
• Supporting change management activities by assisting with change impact assessments, business readiness initiatives, stakeholder communications and the development and coordination of training materials and activities.
• Building and maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate communication, coordinate activities and support the successful delivery and adoption of business transformation outcomes.
• Contributing to continuous improvement by applying sound judgement, strong organisational skills and established program support practices to coordinate activities, manage competing priorities, maintain accurate information, and support the successful delivery of business transformation outcomes.

This role is offered at full time, at the ASO4 Level and for a short-term contract of 18 months - located in the heart of the Adelaide CBD.

Selection Criteria

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, accurate, and well-structured reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence using well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to communicate professionally and responsively across a diverse range of stakeholders, including external vendors and governance audiences.
• Experience providing a positive and constructive approach to stakeholder enquiries and ability to facilitate the flow of information across a team.
• Proven ability to adapt communication style to different audiences and formats, including written briefings, verbal updates, and collaborative tools.

Organisational Skills

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate a range of concurrent program functions with competing priorities, working under limited direction and exercising judgement within established procedures and the program’s governance framework.
• Proven ability to operate with a degree of autonomy, identifying and resolving issues where procedures or precedents may not be clearly defined.
• Experience maintaining a high standard of accuracy, attention to detail, and reliability across all work outputs.
• Demonstrated ability to identify trends and improvement opportunities across program administration processes and proposing practical solutions.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, business operations and its operating environment.
• Ability to use sound and current working knowledge of the Board’s business functions, regulatory responsibilities, operational processes, and current systems.
• Ability to understand and utilise program and project frameworks, reporting processes, and document management practices in a government context.
• Proven knowledge and successful experience in administration processes and functions.
• Proven proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneNote.
• Experience with document and records management systems, including version control practices and compliance with the State Records Act 1997.

Continuous Improvement

• Experience applying continuous improvement principles, actively identifying opportunities to improve tools, templates, registers, and processes and raising suggestions constructively.
• Experience analysing data to identify emerging patterns, risks, or issues.
• Ability to positively respond to change and can adjust priorities effectively over time.
• Actively supports a safe, respectful, and collaborative workplace, complies with WHS requirements, and upholds the SA Public Sector Code of Ethics, the State Records Act 1997, and Board organisational values throughout the program.
