Breakfast/Line Cook

A popular family run cafe in the heart of the Swan Valley is seeking a cook/chef who is passionate about their role in hospitality to join our team. Providing an exceptional dining experience for our patrons is very important to us, so experience and confidence from previous service roles is a must for this position.

We work hard to provide the best environment for our crew. Meals & drinks are provided, the property has ample parking and there are no night shifts. Trading is from 7:30AM - 2PM Wednesday to Sunday.

Weekday shifts will consist of food preparation and service. Weekend shifts will consist of service only. We operate service with 3 stations and are seeking a candidate with experience working grill. Experience is not essential and comprehensive training is provided; however, a positive attitude and willingness to learn is essential.

Kindly note that we have strong staff retention rates and are only seeking a candidate who is looking for long term employment.

About the role & key responsibilities:

• Restaurant Industry Award Rate
• Availability for 2-4 shifts per week, with potential for extra hours during peak periods/holidays
• Weekend availability is a non-negotiable
• Prepare and cook breakfast menu items and dishes to a high standard, ensuring consistent quality
• Work efficiently during busy service shifts, keeping pace with customer orders
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen
• Assist with stock management, ensuring ingredients are prepared and stored following strict food safety guidelines
• Collaborate with BOH and FOH staff to ensure smooth service and a positive customer experience

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience as a line cook or in a food service environment
• Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, both independently and within a team
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness to learn and take direction from fellow experienced kitchen staff
