Baker – Qualified or Experienced

We are looking for an experienced Baker to join our production team, with a strong focus on Bowl and Oven work.

This position is best suited to a qualified baker or an experienced bakery worker who is already confident working in production. We are specifically looking for someone who understands the pace, organisation and consistency required in a busy bread bakery.

You do not necessarily need Bakers Delight experience, as training can be provided on our specific products and systems. However, you must have previous hands-on commercial baking experience, particularly working on Bowl, Ovens, or both.

Your main responsibilities will include working across the Bowl and Oven sections of the bakery.

You should have experience with or a good understanding of:

• Mixing bread doughs to production requirements

• Following recipes, dough procedures and production sheets

• Understanding dough development, mixing times and consistency

• Managing multiple doughs throughout a production shift

• Adjusting to temperature, fermentation and dough conditions

• Keeping production moving efficiently and on schedule

• Maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe Bowl area

You should have experience with or a good understanding of:

• Managing bread production through the ovens

• Proving and preparing products ready for baking

• Loading and unloading ovens safely and efficiently

• Understanding bake times, temperatures and product quality

• Managing multiple products and bake schedules at once

• Ensuring products are baked consistently to the required standard

• Identifying and correcting issues with colour, bake, proving or product quality

• Keeping the Oven area clean, organised and running efficiently

You will work from our daily production sheets and alongside the rest of the baking team to ensure the full production run is completed accurately and on time.

This is a hands-on production role, so you must be comfortable working at a fast pace, managing your section and taking responsibility for the quality of the products you produce.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous commercial baking experience

• Is confident working on Bowl, Ovens, or ideally both

• Is a qualified baker or has strong equivalent hands-on bakery experience

• Can follow production sheets, recipes and procedures accurately

• Understands dough handling, proving and baking processes

• Can work independently within their section once trained

• Is reliable and punctual, particularly for early morning starts

• Works efficiently without compromising product quality

• Has strong food safety and cleanliness standards

• Communicates well and works as part of a production team

• Takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality bread

Early morning starts are an essential part of this position, and weekend availability will be required depending on the roster.

You will be joining an established bakery team with the opportunity to continue developing your skills across different areas of production.

We provide training on our Bakers Delight products, production systems and equipment, along with ongoing support and development.
