Data Analyt (Entry / Junior)

Role Description This part-time Data Analyst (Entry / Junior) role at Portal IT is a hybrid position based in Sydney, NSW, with flexibility for some work from home. The role involves collecting, cleaning, and organizing data from multiple sources to support reporting and decision-making. The Data Analyst will assist in building basic dashboards and reports, performing routine data analysis, and identifying trends or anomalies. The role includes collaborating with team members to clarify data requirements, documenting methods and findings, and communicating insights in a clear, structured way. The individual will also support ad hoc analysis requests and help maintain data quality and consistency across systems.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify patterns, and support problem-solving.Candidates should possess foundational Data Analytics skills, including data cleaning, visualization, and use of common analytics tools.Candidates should possess core Statistics knowledge to understand basic statistical concepts and apply them to data-driven decisions.Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to present findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Candidates should possess basic Data Modeling skills to structure data for reporting and simple analytical use cases.Familiarity with spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel or Google Sheets) and at least one data or BI tool (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau) is beneficial.Relevant coursework or a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field is advantageous.Ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage time effectively, and learn new tools and methods quickly.
