Disability Support Worker :Overnight Inactive Sleepover & Additional Supports

The role is for evening/overnight work as well as additional support hours across daytime/ afternoon hours. A sleepover model includes no planned active support for an 8 hour period. Inactive sleepover period is paid as an allowance. Additional hourly support required before and after the sleepovers.

This role provides support to people with disabilities within their homes to develop independence and achieve goals set within their NDIS plans. 

• To provide direct support and care to individuals, including personal care, medication administration, daily living and behavioral support according to the needs set out in individual Support Plans and according to standards established by All for Smile Ability Services Policies and Procedures.

• To provide an environment that is person centered and recognizes the importance of family and community.

• Be a role model in the workplace and the community, whilst enhancing the image of All for Smiles Ability Services and individuals with a disability.

• To work regular ongoing shifts effectively and collaboratively with other team members and independently in an unsupervised environment, participating in decision making within the boundaries of the program. 

• To participate in regular team meetings, training, development programs and organizational programs, with a commitment to ongoing professional and personal development. 

• Complete relevant program records related to support of individuals including Incident Reports, Shift Reports and Case Notes. 

• To manage individuals and organizational funds within the nominated service, ensuring expenditure of all funds is accounted for, including individual’s monies. 

• To meet all regulatory requirements, striving for best practice at all times.  

• Complying with all relevant legislation, regulations and All for Smiles Ability Services’ policies. 

Perform other duties, within the scope of the position, as reasonably required. 

• Overnight stays away for work will be required to fulfil the requirements of the role.
