About the organisation

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is a Victorian Government-owned organisation responsible for managing the transport accident scheme, providing support and compensation to those injured in transport accidents. The TAC operates across a significant portfolio of services, with a focus on improving the lives of those affected by transport accidents and contributing to road safety more broadly. Headquartered in Geelong, the organisation is undergoing a period of sustained enterprise transformation, with technology at the centre of its strategic agenda.

About the role

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Enterprise Transformation, the General Manager, Technology leads the Information, Digital and Technology Branch—including shared Technology Operations with WorkSafe Victoria—overseeing approximately 100 staff. The role carries accountability for delivering and maintaining the Enterprise Technology Roadmap, migrating legacy systems to future-state platforms, managing the full technology lifecycle, and leading the TAC's cyber security capability. The GM Technology will oversee technology operations, ensuring a stable and seamless environment for the TAC, its clients, and key stakeholders, while driving efficiency and reducing operating costs. The role also encompasses contract negotiation, architecture governance, and leading the adoption of native SaaS and cloud services.

About you

You have been the most senior technology leader in your organisation (or have been previously) and have extensive experience in digital and technology program delivery, ideally within a government or regulated environment. Your ability to manage complex enterprise technology portfolios—spanning operations, infrastructure, applications, and cyber security—is matched by your capacity to lead and develop high-performing teams through change. You bring strong stakeholder management skills, sound commercial judgement, and a demonstrated ability to balance long-range strategic planning with operational delivery. Tertiary qualifications in IT or business are expected; post-graduate qualifications are advantageous. Experience in insurance or government is desirable.
