Tauondi Aboriginal College is seeking a motivated and community-focused Training and Employment Support Service Officer to support Aboriginal people to prepare for, access and sustain education, training and employment opportunities.
Tauondi Aboriginal College is an independent, Aboriginal community-controlled Registered Training Organisation established in 1973. For more than 50 years, Tauondi has supported Aboriginal people through education, training, learner support, employment pathways and community-based programs. Our approach places Aboriginal culture, identity and community at the centre of learning and support.
The Training and Employment Support Service Officer plays an important role in supporting Aboriginal adults from pre-training and employment preparation through to vocational training, employment placement and ongoing post-placement support.
The role combines case management, participant support, employment pathways, workshop facilitation, employer engagement and project coordination.
You will work directly with students and participants to identify their individual needs, develop support plans, address barriers to participation and strengthen their readiness for education, training and employment. You will also coordinate and deliver non-accredited programs in areas such as career development, pre-employment preparation, digital literacy and foundation skills.
In this role, you will:
We are looking for someone who enjoys working directly with people and can build strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal participants, employers, community organisations and other stakeholders.
You will bring strong communication, organisation and facilitation skills, together with an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, protocols, practices and communities.
Ideally, you will have:
Experience within the Vocational Education and Training sector will be highly regarded.
