Medical Receptionist

About the role

We are seeking a skilled, personable and mature Medical Receptionist to join our team at MBL Eye Surgeons in our Lismore, Ballina and Goonellabah clinics. This is a full-time position and you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to our busy ophthalmology practice.

There is the opportunity to combine this role with that of a Scribe for one of our doctors. Your position would then be Receptionist/Scribe.

What you'll be doing

• Greet and welcome patients in a friendly, approachable and professional manner

• Book appointments, modify schedules and manage patient records

• Process payments, handle billing enquiries and maintain financial records

• Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries in a timely and courteous manner

• Liaise with medical staff and help to coordinate patient flow

• Maintain a clean and organised reception area

• Assist with other administrative tasks as required

• Scribe for the doctor, using our medical scribing software

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a medical receptionist is beneficial but not mandatory

• A friendly and approachable manner with the ability to create a welcoming environment for customers

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, a Team player with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with patients, doctors, staff and outside customers

• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks

• Proficient in using medical software and other office technology

• Training will be provided on our medical software system

• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records

• A professional, mature and discreet manner when dealing with confidential information

• The ability to think on your feet and resolve issues as they arise

• Someone who is adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
